Our programs and services encourage students to develop mindsets & behaviors that enable success in the short and long term; understand and articulate their values, interests, and strengths; identify market realities and needs in the world and engage authentically with others to further their professional development in a global, ever-changing context.Minerva is looking to hire a student-centered, results-driven, and experienced Career Coach who aims to help young people grow personally and professionally and achieve their desired career outcomes. In this role, you will guide students through the appropriate mix of 1-1 coaching and group workshops, leveraging your skills in coaching, rapport-building, workshop design and facilitation.As a Coach, you will work with a portfolio of students who will be geographically distributed across multiple cities throughout their four years. This model will allow you to develop and maintain relationships with students over time, helping them to navigate transitions and draw connections as they engage in diverse academic and professional experiences around the world. As a result in a significant amount of your work with students will occur virtually, through either Zoom or Forum, our proprietary video platform.As a Talent Development Lead, you will have the opportunity to shape a new approach to how universities prepare students for the Future of Work, while engaging with an intellectually diverse, mission driven group of students who come to Minerva from around the world (more than 100 countries are represented in our undergraduate population).Given Minerva’s geographically distributed model, this means you will work on a small team of remote Coaches and Career Success experts with students across multiple time zones. As a result, a significant amount of your work with students will occur virtually.Location and Travel: We have a preference for a Coach based in Buenos Aires, which is one of our rotation cities. We will also consider candidates from a nearby region. This role will require occasional evening and weekend work, and may require international travel, once during the academic year.Focus Areas: While we believe coaching does not require domain expertise (e.g., academic discipline, industry or job function), we are looking for a coach who has experience, expertise, or strong interest in working with students pursuing careers in the Arts & Humanities, Natural Sciences, and/or Social Sciences. Many of these students aim to start their careers in research, nonprofits, government agencies, the arts, and/or social enterprises.Requirements:Key ResponsibilitiesHelp students navigate their college experience and early career exploration through reflection, self-assessment, goal setting, research, and the internship/job search processMotivate students to get both strategic & tactical and prioritize their pursuit of professional opportunities, in ways that are aligned with their values, goals and constraintsProvide 1:1 coaching to students & track their progress towards their goalsDesign and implement a variety of talent development workshops and programsCollaborate with Minerva’s teams (e.g., Academics, Student Life) to create sessions that help students understand the connection between their academic course of study, their global rotation experiences, and their career goalsRequired QualificationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMinimum 3 years of relevant coaching experienceEnthusiasm for designing and delivering career-centric workshops and programs both in-person and virtuallyAn understanding of and ability to build rapport with individuals from diverse cultural backgroundsComfort interacting with a variety of stakeholders including colleagues, faculty, Minerva students, employers, graduate schools and partnersComfort working in a fast-paced startup environmentComfort using and learning new technology; tech-savvy and eager to adopt new tools to better serve student needsDemonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing biasPreferred Qualifications5+ years of professional experience advising on career issues and opportunities, or recruiting undergraduate students into highly desirable non-technical roles, specifically in the US jobs marketKnowledge of career development theories, adult development theory, career decision making, learning styles, and job search techniquesKnowledge of employer recruiting strategies, job market trends, career and employment information sources as well as the application process for graduate and professional schoolExperience working with a globally diverse populationComfort with data analysisLength of contract: August 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026 (11 months), with the possibility of renewalSalary range: Depends on experience, based on $4,000-$4,500 monthly full-time salary.To apply, please submit:Your resumeA cover letterA 2-minute video with your definition of career development support and career coachingCandidates need to be able to work within a five hour travel to Buenos Aires.
